Outdoor Ceiling Fan & Heater Installation in Jacksonville, FL

Ceiling fans and patio heaters for Northeast Florida covered patios, gazebos and pergolas: comfort in July and January.

A fan makes a covered patio bearable in a Northeast Florida summer, and a heater keeps it usable on a cool January evening. AY Luxury Designs plans and installs outdoor ceiling fans and patio heaters for homeowners in Jacksonville and across Northeast Florida, placed in the ceiling layout of the gazebo, A-frame or patio extension we design, and wired with our licensed electrical partner.

Outdoor Fans & Heaters: Your Options

  • Ceiling fans. On a ridge beam, in a wood ceiling or on a pergola, sized to the space.
  • Patio heaters. Mounted on headers so they warm the seating area, like the two-zone setup on one Sawgrass Country Club patio.
  • Controls. Switches and dimmers placed where you'll reach them.
  • With lighting. Planned with ceiling and accent lights so nothing competes.

Fans cool people, not rooms: the breeze creates a wind-chill effect, according to ENERGY STAR.

Electrical Planned With Your Project

Electrical planned with the build. We handle the electrical side of your outdoor project with our licensed electrical partner, so it's planned and permitted with the rest of the build. Gas and plumbing work is always done by our licensed trade partners.

ENERGY STAR recommends running ceiling fans counterclockwise in summer for a cooling breeze.

Permits and HOA approval

New fan and heater circuits are permitted electrical work. We pull the electrical permit with the rest of your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a fan and heater layout cost? Every project gets a custom quote with an in-person AutoCAD design, and every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. What drives the cost of a fan and heater layout: the number of fans and heaters; the structure they mount to; circuits and controls; distance from the panel; and permits. You get a fully itemized quote within 24 hours of your design consultation.

Can you add ceiling fans to a pergola or patio cover? Yes. We plan and install fans as part of the structure, with our licensed electrical partner.

Do I need an electrician to install an outdoor ceiling fan? Yes, new wiring should be done under a licensed electrical contractor and may require a permit. That's part of our build.

Can you add heaters to my existing covered patio? Often, yes. We look at the structure and the power during the in-home design visit and tell you what works.

What happens if I build without HOA approval? Associations can require changes or removal and may levy fines. We don't start a structure in a planned community until the approval is in hand.

Can I see the design before I commit? Yes. Every client gets free, to-scale 3D renderings, created with Amany during an in-person design session at our Jacksonville studio.

How soon can my project start? It depends on the scope, but we can start most projects within two to four weeks.

Do you offer financing? Yes. Financing is available through Synchrony Bank, including 18 months of no-interest financing, and we have other financing options too.
