A-Frame Gazebos and Patio Roofs in Jacksonville, FL
A-frame gazebos attached to your house, designed in person with you in AutoCAD and built on site in cedar.
An A-frame gives a patio a vaulted, gabled roof that looks like it was always part of the house. AY Luxury Designs designs and builds A-frame cedar gazebos and A-frame patio roofs for homes across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Each A-frame is tied into your roofline and finished with a tongue-and-groove ceiling, so you get a room outdoors with height, light and airflow. You get less chores and more chill.

What an A-Frame Is
An A-frame is a gabled roof with two sloped sides that meet at a peak. To us, A-frame and gazebo describe the same kind of structure: an A-frame gazebo is a gazebo with a peaked roof, and a gazebo can also have a flat or shed-style roof. On a patio, an A-frame is usually attached to the house, which is why many homeowners search for an A-frame patio cover (we also call it an A-frame extension). It's tied into the house roof, so the new roof reads as part of the home. Because the ceiling rises to the peak, an A-frame feels taller and brighter than a flat patio cover.
Daylighting research from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory shows taller, sloped ceilings spread light deeper into a room; any patio roof can cut some daylight, but a raised, pitched A-frame ceiling can keep more of it reaching the home than a low, flat cover.
A-Frame Options
Cedar A-frame gazebo. Our signature build, handcrafted on site with a tongue-and-groove ceiling.
Composite-roof A-frame. An A-frame roof as part of a screen enclosure, joined to a flat composite-roof section if you like.
Roofing to match. Shingles matched to your house, or metal roofing.
Finishes. Tongue-and-groove ceilings over the gazebo and the existing lanai, custom post build-ups, fans, lighting and TV walls.
Add-ons. Linear gas fireplaces, outdoor kitchens and screen enclosures with our expanded-view upgrade.
Materials
Premium-grade cedar built on site, with engineered connections and roofing matched to your home.
Fun fact: according to Merriam-Webster, the word gazebo may come from the English word gaze plus a Latin-style ending, as in videbo, "I shall see."

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an A-frame gazebo cost? Every project gets a custom quote with an in-person AutoCAD design, and every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. What drives the cost of an A-frame gazebo: the size; cedar or composite; the roofing; ceilings and finishes; a screen enclosure; features like a fireplace, kitchen, fans or lighting; and engineering and permits. You get a fully itemized quote within 24 hours of your design consultation.
What is an A-frame gazebo? It's a gazebo with a gabled roof that rises to a peak. Most are attached to the house as an A-frame patio cover, tied into your house roof so it looks like part of the home, but an A-frame gazebo can also stand on its own in the yard. The vaulted ceiling makes the space feel taller and brighter.
Can you match my roof? Yes. We match your shingles and roofline, or use metal roofing. In Cypress Trails, our A-frame was tied in with shingles matched to the house.
Can an A-frame go inside a screen enclosure? Yes. Many of our A-frames sit inside a screen enclosure with our expanded-view upgrade, and we also build composite-roof A-frame screen enclosures.
Do I need a permit and HOA approval for an A-frame? Yes. It's a permanent structure, so it's permitted, and most HOAs require approval first. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents. We prepare the HOA/ARB package and pull the permits.
How soon can my project start? It depends on the project's scope. We can start most projects within two to four weeks.
Do you offer financing? Yes. We offer financing through Synchrony Bank, including 18 months of no-interest financing, and we have other financing options as well.
