Outdoor Ceiling Fan & Heater Installation in Duval County
Comfort in July and January: fans and heaters for Duval County outdoor rooms.
Comfort is what decides whether a covered patio gets used. We plan outdoor ceiling fans and patio heaters for homeowners in Duval County as part of the ceiling design, with switches where you'll reach them, wired with our licensed electrical partner.

Fan and Heater Options in Duval County
Ceiling fans on the ridge. A fan on the ridge beam of a wood ceiling.

Added to an existing cover. Fans or heaters added to what you already have.
Over the kitchen. Air moving where the cook stands.
Research in the Journal of Medical Entomology found that fan-generated wind strongly reduced mosquito catches, mainly by diluting the carbon dioxide and scents that draw them in, so a ceiling fan can help.
Planning a fan and heater layout in Duval County
Duval County runs from historic Riverside, Avondale and San Marco to Mandarin's river lots, the Southside's planned communities and the Beaches. Older Duval County neighborhoods have big oaks and narrow lots, so designs work around roots and close neighbors. Near water, every outdoor circuit and outlet is planned with protection for wet locations.
Fans and heaters should line up with the seating, not the middle of the roof. We place them in the ceiling layout after the furniture is drawn. Before we draw a fan and heater layout in Duval County, we check how far the panel is, the ceiling or beam each fixture mounts to and whether the screens stay closed most of the season. The wiring is handled with our licensed electrical partner and inspected with the rest of the project.
Outdoor heaters made the list of expected popular outdoor elements in a national ASLA survey of residential landscape architects.
Approvals and Permits in Duval County
Planned communities across Duval County run their own architectural review, while historic districts like Riverside-Avondale add the City's own historic review. Fans and heaters rarely need their own HOA review, but the structure they hang in usually does. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Baldwin issue their own permits; everywhere else in Duval County goes through the City of Jacksonville.

How is the price of a fan and heater layout in Duval County set?We price each project from its AutoCAD design. Circuits and controls; distance from the panel; the number of fans and heaters; the structure they mount to; and permits all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.
Can you add ceiling fans to a pergola or patio cover?Yes. We plan and install fans as part of the structure, with our licensed electrical partner.
Are outdoor fans and heaters permitted work?New circuits are permitted electrical work, and we pull the permit with the rest of the project.
Who permits projects in Duval County? The City of Jacksonville permits most of the county through JaxEPICS. Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Baldwin issue their own permits.
Is there HOA review for outdoor lighting or electrical work in Duval County?Only if your home has an association or deed restrictions. In Duval County, many older neighborhoods have no HOA, gated communities have their own boards, and local historic districts have the City's review. We check before we design and prepare any package needed. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
