Outdoor Ceiling Fan & Heater Installation in St. Johns County

St. Johns County outdoor fans and heaters, planned in the ceiling design and wired with our licensed electrical partner.

A St. Johns County patio can be too hot in August and too chilly in January. Fans and heaters fix both. We plan them with the ceiling, so the fixtures line up with the seating and the wiring stays hidden.

St. Johns County Outdoor Comfort Ideas

  • Ceiling fans on the ridge. A fan on the ridge beam of a wood ceiling.

  • Switches and dimmers. Placed where you'll reach them.

  • Added to an existing cover. Fans or heaters added to what you already have.

  • Wiring hidden. Runs planned inside the structure.

ENERGY STAR recommends running ceiling fans counterclockwise in summer for a cooling breeze.

Designing a fan and heater layout for St. Johns County

Coastal lots near Ponte Vedra Beach and Vilano Beach face salt air, while inland communities deal more with sun, ponds and preserve. We've completed projects across St. Johns County, from Nocatee and RiverTown to SilverLeaf, Shearwater and Palencia. A newer home's panel often has room for outdoor circuits, which makes adding power simpler.

Heaters warm people, not air, so mounting position and direction matter. We plan them over the spots you sit most. Before we draw a fan and heater layout in St. Johns County, we check where the seating sits under the ceiling, where switches belong and how fans and lights share the ceiling. The wiring is handled with our licensed electrical partner and inspected with the rest of the project.

Outdoor fans carry location ratings: damp-rated fans are meant for covered spaces protected from direct rain, while wet-rated fans can handle direct rain, such as under an open pergola.

Approvals and Permits in St. Johns County

Most St. Johns County homes are in master-planned communities with their own architectural review, from Nocatee and RiverTown to SilverLeaf and Palencia. HOA review usually focuses on the structure, not the fans and heaters inside it. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Unincorporated St. Johns County requires a building permit for most improvements and, in most cases, a clearance sheet before it accepts the application. A recorded Notice of Commencement is required for most permitted projects.

Can you add heaters to my existing covered patio?Often, yes. We look at the structure and the power during the in-home design visit and tell you what works.

Do you serve all of St. Johns County?Yes. We serve homeowners from Ponte Vedra Beach and Nocatee to RiverTown, St. Johns, World Golf Village and St. Augustine.

Will my St. Johns County HOA review outdoor lighting or electrical work?In most cases, yes.
