Summer Kitchen Builder in Jacksonville, FL

Summer kitchens for Northeast Florida: Florida's name for the outdoor kitchen, designed with the cover, the fire and the patio around it.

In Florida, a summer kitchen usually means an outdoor kitchen: a grill, counters and prep space on the patio or under a cover, so you can cook outside and keep the heat out of the house. AY Luxury Designs designs and builds summer kitchens for homeowners in Jacksonville and across Northeast Florida, with the layout, stonework, power and shelter planned in AutoCAD together.

Summer Kitchens: Your Options

  • Under a roof. A summer kitchen under a gazebo, lanai extension or covered patio can be used in any weather.
  • Built for the way you cook. Grill, side burners, a pocket for a ceramic cooker, a sink, a small fridge and bar seating, chosen by you.
  • Counters and bases. Stone or wall-block bases with natural-stone counters, matched to the patio.
  • Power and lighting. Outlets and lighting planned in the design; gas and plumbing by our licensed trade partners.

Historically, a summer kitchen was a separate kitchen used in the hot months so cooking wouldn't add heat to the main house, as the National Park Service describes.

NAHB lists outdoor kitchens and outdoor fireplaces among the home features that have grown most in popularity over the past ten years.

Permits and HOA approval

Summer kitchens with electrical, gas or plumbing work usually need permits, and so does any cover over them. Most HOAs review outdoor kitchens. We confirm what your project needs, prepare the HOA/ARB package and pull the permits. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
