Screen Enclosure Builder in Fernandina Beach, FL

Screen enclosures for Fernandina Beach patios and lanais, designed with the rest of your backyard. We manage every step, from permit to final walkthrough.

Most people want two things from a screen enclosure: keep the bugs out and keep the view. We design enclosures for Fernandina Beach homes with our expanded-view option and doors where you actually walk, so the screen disappears and the yard stays in the picture. Downtown Fernandina's National Register historic district runs from the Amelia River waterfront through downtown.

Screen Enclosure Options in Fernandina Beach

  • Doors where you walk. Door placement follows your path from the house to the yard and the grill.
  • Fans and lights inside. Wired into the roof or beams so the screened room works after dark.
  • New floor underneath. Pavers or an extended slab so the enclosure has a finished floor.
  • Frame color choices. Frame colors chosen to suit your home and your community's guidelines.

The CDC recommends using screens and repairing holes in them to keep mosquitoes outdoors.

Fernandina Beach Planning Notes for Your Screen Enclosure

Salt air, marsh views and mature trees shape materials and placement across Fernandina Beach. On an older home, a screen enclosure is placed and colored so it reads as part of the house instead of an add-on.

If you already have an older enclosure, we look at whether to replace it or tie a new roofed room into it during the in-home design visit. Before we draw a screen enclosure in Fernandina Beach, we check how the enclosure meets your existing roof, which frame color suits the house and what floor the enclosure will sit on.

Florida is home to more than 80 species of mosquitoes, according to UF/IFAS.

Fernandina Beach HOA Review and Permits

In Fernandina Beach, the review depends on the address: the Historic District Council for Downtown and Old Town, or a community review board in neighborhoods like Amelia Walk and Amelia National. For a screen enclosure, boards commonly ask about frame color, screen type and how the new framing ties into the house. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Permits in Fernandina Beach depend on whether your home is in the city or the county, and historic-district homes add the Council's review first. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum budget for a screen enclosure in Fernandina Beach? Yes. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. Beyond that, the cost depends on the floor underneath; the size and height; the roof style (screen only or tied into a solid roof); the expanded-view upgrade; and engineering and permits, and your fully itemized custom quote comes within 24 hours of your consultation.

What is the expanded-view upgrade? It's our option for cleaner frame lines, so you see more yard and less framing.

Can a hot tub go inside a screen enclosure? Yes. We plan the pad or build-up and the electrical with the enclosure so it all fits.

Do you serve Fernandina Beach from Jacksonville? Yes. Your project starts at our Jacksonville design studio, and then Amany comes to your Fernandina Beach home for the in-home design visit.

Will my Fernandina Beach HOA review a screen enclosure? In most cases, yes. Newer neighborhoods like Amelia Walk and Amelia National have their own architectural review, while the historic districts follow the City's Historic District Council process. We prepare the site plan, scaled drawings and material and color selections and submit them with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Who permits a screen enclosure in Fernandina Beach? We file with the City of Fernandina Beach inside city limits and Nassau County outside them, depending on your address, track the permit and schedule the inspections. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
