Hot Tub Pads & Build-Ups in Jacksonville, FL

Hot tub pads and stone build-ups for Northeast Florida patios, designed so the spa looks built in.

A hot tub looks best when it's part of the patio instead of a box sitting on it. AY Luxury Designs designs hot tub pads and build-ups for homeowners in Jacksonville and across Northeast Florida: a base designed for the weight, a stone or wall-block surround that matches your patio, lighted steps, and the electrical hookup planned with it and wired with our licensed electrical partner.

Hot Tub Pads & Build-Ups: Your Options

  • Pads for the weight. A base designed for a filled hot tub, on pavers or a new slab.
  • Stone build-ups. A surround in stone or wall block so the spa reads as built in.
  • Steps and lighting. Lighted steps for safe entry at night.
  • Shade and privacy. Under a pergola or inside a screen enclosure.
  • Electrical hookup. See Hot Tub Electrical Hookup.

The CPSC and CDC advise keeping hot tub water at 104°F or below.

Electrical Planned With Your Project

Electrical planned with the build. We handle the electrical side of your outdoor project with our licensed electrical partner, so it's planned and permitted with the rest of the build. Gas and plumbing work is always done by our licensed trade partners.

The CPSC recommends a locked safety cover whenever a hot tub is not in use.

Permits and HOA approval

Hot tub electrical is permitted work, and HOAs often review hot tub placement and screening. We include the pad, the surround and any structure in your HOA application and pull the electrical permit.

Mediterranean pergola over a hot tub, with a new patio built around a family tree, Alta Lakes (Jacksonville) We rebuilt this backyard from scratch while protecting the tree the family planted when they moved in, now circled by a planting bed. The centerpiece is a stained cedar Mediterranean-style pergola on white round columns with decorative rafter tails and shade panels on top. Underneath it sits a hot tub wrapped in a custom stone build-up with lit steps. A light-gray paver patio surrounds it, edged by a low seating wall with lit caps and columns at each end.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a hot tub build-up cost? Every project gets a custom quote with an in-person AutoCAD design, and every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. What drives the cost of a hot tub build-up: the size and weight of the hot tub; pad or build-up; the surround finish; steps and lighting; electrical; any pergola or screen; and permits. You get a fully itemized quote within 24 hours of your design consultation.

Can a hot tub go on pavers? Yes, with the right base. We offer hot tub build-ups and pads designed for the weight and look you want.

Can you wire a hot tub? Yes. We handle hot tub electrical along with hot tub build-ups, with our licensed electrical partner.

Can you put a pergola over my hot tub? Yes. Pergolas and covers over pools and spas are a favorite way to add shade. We plan them around your layout and equipment.

My builder's lanai is too small. Can it be extended? Yes. Extending a builder lanai or patio is one of our most requested projects. We design the extension to look original to the home.

Should I add the patio cover through my builder or after closing? Builder options are convenient but limited. Working with a custom builder after closing gives you more design freedom and a structure that fits how you live. We work with new homes in neighborhoods all over Northeast Florida, and we're an independent builder, not affiliated with any home builder.

How soon can my project start? Usually within two to four weeks. The exact start depends on your project's scope.

Do you offer financing? We do. Synchrony Bank financing is available, including 18 months of no-interest financing, along with other financing options.
