Hot Tub Pads & Build-Ups in Nocatee, FL
Make the hot tub part of the patio. Pads, surrounds and steps for Nocatee backyards.
Most hot tubs arrive as a plain cabinet on a slab. We design hot tub pads and stone build-ups for Nocatee homes so the spa sits low, looks built in and connects to the rest of the patio.

Hot Tub Areas for Nocatee Homes
A pad for the weight. A base designed for a filled hot tub, on pavers or a new slab.
Lighted steps. Steps with lights for safe entry at night.
Privacy walls. A wall or panels on the neighbor side.
The electrical hookup. Planned with the pad and handled with our licensed electrical partner.
A pergola over a hot tub gives partial shade; the Skin Cancer Foundation notes the indirect UV you get in shade rises with how much open sky is visible.
Before We Draw Your Nocatee Hot Tub build-up
Nocatee backyards tend to be compact and close to the neighbors, so privacy, shade and staying inside the setbacks drive most designs. Most Nocatee homes are newer and came with a standard covered lanai, so many projects start by extending it, screening it or adding a kitchen. On a small lot, every square foot of hardscape counts toward lot coverage, so the patio layout and material are part of the permit math.
Lighting in the steps and caps keeps evening soaks safe and makes the spa glow at night. Before we draw a hot tub build-up in Nocatee, we check where the cover opens, how the surround meets the patio and where the power comes from.
Approvals and Permits in Nocatee
Each Nocatee neighborhood has its own architectural review and design guidelines on top of the master association, and the details, such as screen and frame colors, enclosure height and roof types, differ from one neighborhood to the next. For a hot tub, the board typically wants the location on the survey and the screening plan. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Nocatee homes are permitted by St. Johns County. The County requires a building permit for most improvements and, in most cases, a clearance sheet before it accepts the application, and registered architectural review associations are notified automatically when exterior work is filed.
The National Electrical Code requires GFCI protection for outlets that supply packaged hot tubs, unless the tub is listed with built-in GFCI protection, according to NEC training guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the price of a hot tub build-up in Nocatee set?We price each project from its AutoCAD design. The size and weight of the hot tub; a pad or a full build-up; the surround finish; steps and lighting; and permits all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.
What's a hot tub build-up?A surround of stone or wall block built around the spa, often with steps and caps, so it looks built in instead of sitting on the patio.
Where should the hot tub go?Close enough to the door for cool nights, with privacy from neighbors and room for the cover to open. We test placements in AutoCAD.
Is every Nocatee home permitted by St. Johns County? Most are. A few neighborhoods on the Duval County side, such as Brookwood, are permitted by the City of Jacksonville. We confirm it from your address.
Do I need HOA approval for a hot tub pad or patio work in Nocatee? In most cases, yes. Every Nocatee neighborhood reviews exterior changes, so plan on HOA approval for almost any backyard structure. We put the package together and handle the submittal with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
