Pavers & Patios in Clay County

New pavers and patio extensions for Clay County backyards, with steps, walls and lighting worked in.

A builder slab rarely fits a real outdoor living space. AY Luxury Designs designs and installs paver patios and extensions, serving homeowners in Clay County, with borders, seat walls, steps and lighting planned with whatever you want to build on top.

Ways to Extend a Clay County Patio

  • Paving over the old slab. Old and new surfaces covered so they read as one.

  • Seat walls and benches. Built-in seating that also defines the edges.

  • Walkways and side paths. Connect the patio to the gate, the yard or a fire area.

  • Fire pit built in. A fire pit set into the patio with seating around it.

The EPA describes cool pavements as paving materials that reflect more solar energy so they stay cooler than conventional pavement, which is one reason lighter paver colors can feel cooler underfoot.

Before We Draw Your Clay County Paver Patio

In unincorporated Clay County, additions and accessory structures get a Planning and Zoning site pre-review before the building permit. Mature trees and bigger lots are common in Clay County, so there's often room for a full outdoor room. Fairway lots often get a patio that reaches toward the course as far as the setbacks allow.

A border in a contrasting color is a small detail that makes the whole patio look finished. Before we draw a paver patio in Clay County, we check what goes on top now or later, how the border meets the lawn and how much lot coverage the patio adds.

UF/IFAS lists concrete, brick, pavers and flagstone among the floor choices for a patio.

Approvals and Permits in Clay County

Clay County's golf and lake communities usually want drawings, materials and colors before work starts. For new pavers, review boards often ask about the color, the pattern and how much the footprint grows. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Homes inside the Town of Orange Park are permitted by the Town; the rest of Clay County by the County. We confirm it from your address.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the price of a paver patio in Clay County set?We price each project from its AutoCAD design. The paver or stone you choose; borders and patterns; seat walls, planters and steps; lighting; and permits where structures are involved all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.

Can lights be added to pavers?Yes. In-ground lights and lights under seat-wall caps are planned before the pavers go down.

Can you build a raised patio?Yes. Raised patios with steps and seat walls help the space meet a sloped yard.

Who permits projects in Clay County?Clay County permits unincorporated areas, including Fleming Island, Oakleaf and most Orange Park addresses. Homes inside the Town of Orange Park are permitted by the Town.

Does my Clay County home need HOA approval for new pavers or a patio extension?Only if your home has an association or deed restrictions. In Clay County, review depends on the neighborhood; older areas may have deed restrictions instead of an HOA. Most HOAs review changes to the patio footprint. We check before we design and prepare any package needed. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
