Fire Pits in Nassau County
Gas and wood-burning fire pits for Nassau County patios, built into the seating and the stonework.
Even in Florida there are plenty of nights for a fire. We design and build fire pits for homeowners in Nassau County as part of the patio, with built-in benches or seat walls around them, so the fire area feels like a destination. Gas connections are made by our licensed gas trade partners.

Building a Fire Area in Nassau County
Wood-burning fire pit. The real crackle and smell of a fire.
Sunken fire areas. A step down to the fire with benches makes a cozy room in the yard.
Lighting around it. Step and seat-wall lights for the walk back to the house.
Next to the kitchen. Fire and cooking close together keeps the evening in one place.
Florida's summer thunderstorms are a reason to know the CDC's rule: open structures like gazebos and porches don't protect you from lightning, so go indoors when thunder roars.
Nassau County Planning Notes for Your Fire Pit
Nassau County runs from Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island to Yulee and the growing communities around it. We've completed projects in Amelia Walk, Amelia National, Fernandina Beach and Yulee. A steady sea breeze decides where a fire feature can sit, so we place it in the lee of the house or a wall.
Some families want the fire close to the kitchen; others want it out in the yard as a destination. We show both options in AutoCAD. Before we draw a fire pit in Nassau County, we check clearance from the house, fence and trees, gas or wood, and what that means for placement and how seating wraps the fire.
The EPA reports that shaded surfaces can be 20 to 45°F cooler than the peak temperatures of unshaded materials.
Approvals and Permits in Nassau County
Gated and resort communities on Amelia Island run careful reviews of materials, colors and tree removal. Boards often ask whether the fire pit is gas or wood-burning and how far it sits from the house and the property lines. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Unincorporated Nassau County issues building permits through its Building Department and its online permit portal. A recorded Notice of Commencement is required for most permitted projects. See our Nassau County permit guide. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum budget for a fire pit in Nassau County?Yes. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. Beyond that, the cost depends on the patio around it; lighting; gas or wood; size and finish; and permits, and your fully itemized custom quote comes within 24 hours of your consultation.
Gas or wood-burning fire pit?Gas is instant and smoke-free; wood gives the crackle and smell. We build both and help you choose for your yard and your HOA.
Can a fire pit have lights around it?Yes. Seat-wall and step lights make the fire area safe and inviting after dark.
Do you serve Yulee?Yes. We serve homeowners in Yulee, Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island and throughout Nassau County.
Is there HOA review for a fire pit in Nassau County? It depends on your street. In Nassau County, review depends on the address: a community board, Fernandina Beach's historic review, or neither. Where a board applies, we prepare its package and submit it with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
