Pavers & Patios in Fruit Cove, FL
The floor of your outdoor space: Fruit Cove paver patios planned with everything on top.
A new patio is the first step for a lot of Fruit Cove backyards. We design the shape, the pattern and the border in AutoCAD, then add the steps, seat walls and lights that make the space feel finished. Fruit Cove runs along the St. Johns River between Julington Creek and Cunningham Creek, so many lots have mature trees, slopes and water views.

Ways to Extend a Fruit Cove Patio
- Paving over the old slab. Old and new surfaces covered so they read as one.
- Hot tub pads and build-ups. A pad or build-up designed for the weight and look you want.
- Steps and raised patios. Help the patio meet a sloped yard.
- Fire pit built in. A fire pit set into the patio with seating around it.
Conventional paving gets hot: an EPA-cited pilot study found asphalt reaching surface temperatures up to 152°F at midday, while cool pavements stayed 10 to 16°F cooler.
What Shapes a Paver Patio in Fruit Cove
A designated scenic and historic route runs through Fruit Cove under a canopy of oaks. On lots that slope toward water, steps and seat walls help the patio meet the grade.
The best time to plan lighting and power is before the pavers go down, so we draw the fixtures and conduit in the first AutoCAD design. Before we draw a paver patio in Fruit Cove, we check how the new surface meets the old slab, where steps are needed on a slope and what goes on top now or later.
The EPA describes cool pavements as paving materials that reflect more solar energy so they stay cooler than conventional pavement, which is one reason lighter paver colors can feel cooler underfoot.
Approvals and Permits in Fruit Cove
Planned Fruit Cove communities have architectural review; many riverfront lots don't. We check yours first. For new pavers, review boards often ask about the color, the pattern and how much the footprint grows. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
St. Johns County permits Fruit Cove projects, even when the mailing address says Jacksonville. We handle the clearance sheet and permit. Paver work that needs a permit is filed with the rest of the project.
