Pavers & Patios in Atlantic Beach, FL

Atlantic Beach paver patios that give the table, the grill and the fire room to breathe.

A builder slab rarely fits a real outdoor living space. AY Luxury Designs designs and installs paver patios and extensions, serving homeowners in Atlantic Beach, with borders, seat walls, steps and lighting planned with whatever you want to build on top. Atlantic Beach shares Beaches Town Center with Neptune Beach, and many homes nearby sit on older, narrow lots.

Ways to Extend an Atlantic Beach Patio

  • Patio extensions. Grow the slab into a real outdoor room.
  • Paving over the old slab. Old and new surfaces covered so they read as one.
  • Hot tub pads and build-ups. A pad or build-up designed for the weight and look you want.
  • Borders and patterns. A border that makes the whole patio look finished.

UF/IFAS lists concrete, brick, pavers and flagstone among the floor choices for a patio.

Designing a Paver Patio for Atlantic Beach

Selva Marina and Royal Palms have larger lots than the blocks near the ocean, which leaves more room for a freestanding structure. A patio near big trees is shaped around the roots, which often gives it a more natural edge.

The best time to plan lighting and power is before the pavers go down, so we draw the fixtures and conduit in the first AutoCAD design. Before we draw a paver patio in Atlantic Beach, we check where steps are needed on a slope, what goes on top now or later and how much lot coverage the patio adds.

In NAHB's study of home buyers, 86% rated a patio essential or desirable, making it one of the two most-wanted features.

Approvals and Permits in Atlantic Beach

Most Atlantic Beach streets don't have a big master association, so the City's zoning, setbacks and tree rules usually shape the design, with deed restrictions in some neighborhoods like Selva Marina. For new pavers, review boards often ask about the color, the pattern and how much the footprint grows. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Atlantic Beach is its own city with its own Building Division, so permits for homes inside city limits go to the City of Atlantic Beach, which accepts online submittals, rather than the City of Jacksonville. The City lists pergolas, outdoor kitchens and screened enclosures among the residential work that needs a building permit. Paver work that needs a permit is filed with the rest of the project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the price of a paver patio in Atlantic Beach set? We price each project from its AutoCAD design. The paver or stone you choose; borders and patterns; seat walls, planters and steps; lighting; and permits where structures are involved all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.

Do you build seat walls and fire pits with the patio? Yes. Seat walls, benches, planters, fire pits and steps are often part of the same paver design.

What's the best patio shape? The one that fits how you use the yard. We lay out furniture in the AutoCAD design and shape the patio around it.

Do new pavers need a permit in Atlantic Beach? Yes, in most cases. The City requires a permit for pavers, patios and slabs that increase the impervious area of your lot. We include it with the rest of your permits.

Do I need HOA approval for new pavers or a patio extension in Atlantic Beach? Only if your home has an association or deed restrictions. Atlantic Beach projects are shaped by city zoning and tree protection more than HOA boards, though some neighborhoods do have deed restrictions. Most HOAs review changes to the patio footprint. We check before we design and prepare any package needed. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
