Outdoor Electrical in St. Johns County

Outdoor circuits and wiring for St. Johns County backyards with our licensed electrical partner.

A St. Johns County outdoor room can need more circuits than a bedroom inside. We plan the outlets, lights, fans, TV and kitchen power with the design, and we handle the work with our licensed electrical partner.

Outdoor Electrical Services in St. Johns County

  • Lighting circuits. Power for path, wall, step and ceiling lights.

  • Hot tub hookups. Planned with the pad or build-up.

  • Switches and zones. Controls grouped so each area works on its own.

  • Planned in AutoCAD. Every fixture and outlet shown before work starts.

When designing an outdoor living space, UF/IFAS suggests planning power for cooking and lighting early.

What Shapes an outdoor electrical project in St. Johns County

Unincorporated St. Johns County issues a clearance sheet before it accepts a building permit application for most improvements. Registered architectural review associations in St. Johns County are notified automatically when exterior work is filed. On waterfront lots, outdoor power is placed and protected with moisture in mind.

We handle the electrical work with our licensed electrical partner. Before we draw an outdoor electrical project in St. Johns County, we check the route for underground runs, what the kitchen and hot tub need and how switches are grouped. We plan every circuit in the design and handle the work with our licensed electrical partner.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, LEDs use at least 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last about 25 times longer.

Approvals and Permits in St. Johns County

In St. Johns County, the HOA and the county permit are separate steps, and registered associations are notified automatically when exterior work is filed. HOA review usually covers the structure and the lighting style, not the wiring behind them. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Homes inside the City of St. Augustine are permitted by the City, and the rest of St. Johns County by the county. We confirm your jurisdiction first.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the price of an outdoor electrical project in St. Johns County set?We price each project from its AutoCAD design. The number of circuits and outlets; what they power (lights, fans, TV, kitchen, hot tub); distance from the panel; underground runs; and permits all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.

Do outdoor circuits need a permit?New circuits are permitted electrical work. We pull the electrical permit with the rest of the project.

Do you serve all of St. Johns County?Yes. We serve homeowners from Ponte Vedra Beach and Nocatee to RiverTown, St. Johns, World Golf Village and St. Augustine.

Does outdoor lighting or electrical work in St. Johns County go to the HOA?Plan on it. Most St. Johns County homes are in master-planned communities with their own architectural review, from Nocatee and RiverTown to SilverLeaf and Palencia. We prepare what the board asks for, and the decision is the board's, so confirm current guidelines with your association.
