Outdoor Electrical Contractor in Amelia Island, FL

Outdoor circuits and wiring for Amelia Island backyards, handled with our licensed electrical partner.

When we coordinate the structure and the electrical together, with our licensed electrical partner, the wiring is planned before the roof and pavers go on. We handle the electrical work for Amelia Island outdoor projects with our licensed electrical partner. On a barrier island, Amelia homes face salt air, ocean wind and protected tree canopy, so we plan around significant trees from the first sketch.

Amelia Island Outdoor Power and Wiring

  • Outdoor outlets. Outlets placed where you'll use them, protected for wet locations.
  • Kitchen circuits. Power for fridges, lights and appliances.
  • Underground runs. Trenching and conduit under RU11066663 to reach a detached structure.
  • Switches and zones. Controls grouped so each area works on its own.

UF/IFAS advises planning your power needs for cooking and lighting early when designing an outdoor living space.

Before We Draw Your Amelia Island Outdoor Electrical Project

Amelia Park and the beach neighborhoods have smaller lots than the resort communities, so compact structures work best. Around mature trees, underground runs are planned to avoid the roots.

We look at the panel during the in-home design visit, because older or full panels change the plan. Before we draw an outdoor electrical project on Amelia Island, we check the route for underground runs, what the kitchen and hot tub need and where the TV and speakers go. We handle electrical work with our licensed electrical partner, and it's permitted and inspected with the rest of the project.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, LEDs use at least 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs and last about 25 times longer.

Review Boards and Permits on Amelia Island

Gated and resort communities on the island, such as Amelia Island Plantation and Summer Beach, run their own architectural review, often with careful rules on materials, colors and tree removal. HOA review usually covers the structure and the lighting style, not the wiring behind them. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

On Amelia Island, homes inside Fernandina Beach city limits are permitted by the City, and the rest of the island is unincorporated Nassau County, which issues permits through its Building Department. We confirm your jurisdiction before we design. New circuits are permitted electrical work, and we pull the electrical permit with the rest of your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an outdoor electrical project cost on Amelia Island? It depends on the design, so there's no standard price. The main cost drivers are underground runs; the number of circuits and outlets; what they power (lights, fans, TV, kitchen, hot tub); distance from the panel; and permits. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and you get a fully itemized custom quote within 24 hours of your consultation.

Can you add outlets to my existing patio? Often, yes. We check the panel and the route during the in-home design visit.

Do I need a separate electrician for my outdoor project? No. We handle the electrical work with our licensed electrical partner, together with the rest of the project.

Is all of Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach? No. The City of Fernandina Beach covers the north end of the island, while much of the south end is unincorporated Nassau County.

Does outdoor lighting or electrical work on Amelia Island go to the HOA? If you live in a planned Amelia Island community, plan on it. We build the package from your community's guidelines and handle the submittal. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
