Gazebo Builder in San Marco, Jacksonville, FL

Gazebos for San Marco homes, out in the yard or tied into the house.

A gazebo can be a lounge, a dining room or an outdoor kitchen with a roof. AY Luxury Designs designs and builds gazebos, serving homeowners in San Marco, freestanding or attached to your house, finished to look like part of the house. San Marco was developed in the 1920s, and many homes show the Mediterranean Revival style of that era. The roof can be flat, shed-style or a peaked A-frame.

How San Marco Families Use a Gazebo

  • Tied into the house. Roofed and finished to look original.

  • Wood ceiling. A warm ceiling with fans and lights.

  • Fireplace or TV wall. A focal point inside the gazebo.

  • Column wraps. Columns finished to match the house or the stonework.

Merriam-Webster defines a gazebo as a roofed structure, usually freestanding and usually open on the sides, and lists pavilion as a synonym.

San Marco Planning Notes for Your Gazebo

The neighborhood's shops and restaurants center on San Marco Square and its fountain, a short walk from many homes. Close neighbors make roof height and placement matter, so we check sightlines from next door as well as from your house.

What goes under the gazebo decides its size. A dining table, a kitchen and a lounge all need different footprints. Before we draw a gazebo in San Marco, we check how the roofing matches the house, where fans and lights mount and how the floor meets the patio.

Fun fact: according to Merriam-Webster, the word gazebo may come from the English word gaze plus a Latin-style ending, as in videbo, "I shall see."

San Marco HOA Review and Permits

Most San Marco homes don't need historic review, because San Marco isn't a local historic district. A designated local landmark does, so we check your address on the City's land development map first. For a gazebo, review boards often want elevations, the roofing color and the distance from the property lines. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

San Marco permits come from the City of Jacksonville, with building and zoning review in JaxEPICS. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the price of a gazebo in San Marco set?We price each project from its AutoCAD design. Screens; the floor; the size; freestanding or attached to the house; and engineering and permits all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.

Can you add fans and a TV to a gazebo?Yes. Fans, lights and a TV are planned in the ceiling and walls during design.

Can a gazebo have a fireplace?Yes, with the right design and clearances. A fireplace makes a gazebo usable on cool nights.

Can an outdoor room fit a compact San Marco lot?Usually, yes. A single well-planned room, placed on the least visible side of the house, often does the work of a whole backyard.

Do I need HOA approval for a gazebo in San Marco?Only if your home has an association or deed restrictions. In San Marco, most homes have no HOA board and no historic review. Individually designated landmarks are the exception. If yours has one, we prepare that package along with the permit. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Do I need a permit for a gazebo in San Marco?A gazebo is a permitted roofed structure. The City of Jacksonville permits San Marco projects through JaxEPICS. We file and track the permit for you. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
