Gazebo Builder in Riverside, Jacksonville, FL

Riverside gazebos with a wood ceiling, fans and lights, built to look like part of the house.

A gazebo gives the backyard a destination. We plan gazebos for Riverside families in AutoCAD, from the footprint to the ceiling finish, so you can see it on your lot before anything is built. Historic Riverside homes on narrow, tree-lined lots mean additions should be compatible with the house, placed on the least visible side and sized to the lot. A gazebo can stand on its own in the yard or attach to the house, and its roof can be flat, shed-style or an A-frame.

Gazebo Options in Riverside

  • Wood ceiling. A warm ceiling with fans and lights.

  • Privacy panels. Panels on one side for privacy from the neighbors.

  • Inside a screen enclosure. A gazebo wrapped in screen for bug-free evenings.

  • Paver floor. A patio underneath sized to the gazebo.

Gazebos are great for sun and rain, but the CDC notes that gazebos and picnic shelters do not protect you from lightning, so head indoors when you hear thunder.

Designing a Gazebo for Riverside

Near Five Points and the river, Riverside lots are compact, so the design has to fit the space without crowding the house. Historic homes need new roofs that match the existing pitch and materials as closely as the review allows.

Matching the roofing and trim to the house keeps an attached gazebo from looking added on. Before we draw a gazebo in Riverside, we check where the gazebo sits on the lot, how the roofing matches the house and where fans and lights mount.

Gazebo and pavilion overlap in everyday use: Merriam-Webster lists each word in the other's synonym list.

Approvals and Permits in Riverside

In Riverside, the City's historic review takes the place of an HOA board for most homes. We prepare the Certificate of Appropriateness application with scaled drawings and 3D renderings. Boards usually ask where the gazebo sits on the lot, how tall it is, and whether the roofing and trim match the house. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Riverside permits come from the City of Jacksonville once the historic review is complete. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
