Fire Table Options for Fernandina Beach Patios
Lighting around it. Step and wall lights so the area is safe after dark.
A cover for the burner. A lid that turns it into a table when it's off.
Paver pad. A new paver area that frames the fire table.
Gas connection. Made by our licensed trade partners as part of the project.
UF/IFAS notes that lighting along walkways and driveways gives visual guidance and can add safety and value to a home.
Fernandina Beach Planning Notes for Your Fire Table
Amelia Walk and Amelia National are newer communities with a Fernandina Beach address, many of them in unincorporated Nassau County. Salt air, marsh views and mature trees shape materials and placement across Fernandina Beach. New-build yards often need a patio extension before a fire feature fits, so we design them together.
Gas routes are easiest to plan before new pavers go down. Before we draw a fire table in Fernandina Beach, we check the clearances from roofs and overhangs, how the finish matches the pavers and the walking path around it.
UF/IFAS lists concrete, brick, pavers and flagstone among the floor choices for a patio.
Approvals and Permits in Fernandina Beach
Newer neighborhoods like Amelia Walk and Amelia National have their own architectural review, while the historic districts follow the City's Historic District Council process. Review boards usually look at fire feature placement and finishes. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Homes inside Fernandina Beach city limits are permitted by the City. In the Downtown and Old Town historic districts, exterior changes need a Certificate of Approval from the Historic District Council before the building permit, and a pergola or deck with a structure goes to the Council. Outside city limits, unincorporated Nassau County issues the permit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a minimum budget for a fire table in Fernandina Beach?Yes. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. Beyond that, the cost depends on lighting; the size, shape and finish; built-in or stand-alone; the gas connection by our licensed trade partners; and permits, and your fully itemized custom quote comes within 24 hours of your consultation.
Gas fire table or wood fire pit?Gas gives instant, smoke-free fire at the turn of a switch; wood gives the crackle and smell. We design both and help you choose for your yard and your HOA.
What's the difference between a fire table and a fire pit?A fire table sits at table height with a ledge for drinks; a fire pit sits lower, often with seating around it. We design both.
Is Old Town the same as the downtown historic district? No. Old Town Fernandina is a separate historic district north of downtown. Exterior work in either district goes through the City's historic review first.
Do I need HOA approval for a fire table in Fernandina Beach?Usually, yes. In Fernandina Beach, the review depends on the address: the Historic District Council for Downtown and Old Town, or a community review board in neighborhoods like Amelia Walk and Amelia National. We prepare the site plan, scaled drawings and material and color selections and submit them with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
