Fire Pit Installation in Riverside, Jacksonville, FL
Gas and wood-burning fire pits for Riverside patios, built into the seating and the stonework.
A good fire pit is more than a bowl on the pavers. AY Luxury Designs builds gas and wood-burning fire pits, serving homeowners in Riverside, designed with the seating, the lighting and the patio around them. Gas connections are made by our licensed gas trade partners. Historic Riverside homes on narrow, tree-lined lots mean additions should be compatible with the house, placed on the least visible side and sized to the lot.

Fire Pit Options in Riverside
Seat walls. Walls at seating height around the fire area.
Fire bowls. A fire bowl on a seat wall or column adds a glow.
Lighting around it. Step and seat-wall lights for the walk back to the house.
Its own paver area. A separate patio for the fire, linked by a path.
NFPA advises never adding lighter fluid or any other flammable liquid to a fire that's already burning.
Before We Draw Your Riverside Fire Pit
Memorial Park, designed by the Olmsted Brothers firm, is Riverside's riverfront centerpiece. Small lots usually suit a gas fire feature, since smoke drifting next door is less of a concern.
Some families want the fire close to the kitchen; others want it out in the yard as a destination. We show both options in AutoCAD. Before we draw a fire pit in Riverside, we check clearance from the house, fence and trees, how seating wraps the fire and whether lights are wanted in the seat walls.
Before leaving a fire, NFPA advises dousing it with water and making sure the area is cool to the touch.
HOA, Historic Review and Permits in Riverside
Riverside is part of the Riverside Avondale Historic District, a local historic district, so exterior changes need a Certificate of Appropriateness from the City before the building permit. That includes site work like fences, driveways and sheds, whether or not the work can be seen from the street. Boards often ask whether the fire pit is gas or wood-burning and how far it sits from the house and the property lines. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
In Riverside, permits are issued by the City of Jacksonville through JaxEPICS, and the Certificate of Appropriateness has to be in hand before the permit is issued. Electrical work is permitted and inspected with the rest of the project. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Can you add a fire pit to my existing patio?Often, yes. We can set a fire pit into an existing patio or extend the patio to make room for one with seating.
