Cabanas: Your Options

Poolside or in the yard. Placed for shade, view and privacy.
Roof and finishes matched to the house. So the cabana looks like it was always there.
Bar, fan and lighting. A bar counter, a ceiling fan and lighting planned in the design.
The deck around it. Pavers or stone that tie the cabana into the pool deck and patio. We don't build pools; we work alongside the pool builder of your choice.

Shade makes a real difference: the EPA reports that shaded surfaces can be 20 to 45°F cooler than the peak temperatures of unshaded materials.

The EPA's UV Index guidance recommends seeking shade during late morning through mid-afternoon whenever the UV Index is moderate or higher.

Permits and HOA approval

A cabana is a permanent roofed structure. Most need a building permit, and HOAs usually review placement near the pool and property lines. We prepare the HOA/ARB package and pull the permits. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Our Design-Build Process

Design session with Amany. Your project starts at our Jacksonville design studio, where you sit down with founder Amany Youssef and watch your cabana take shape live on screen in AutoCAD.
Free AutoCAD design and a custom quote. You get to-scale 3D renderings and a fully itemized custom quote within 24 hours of your consultation, so you know exactly what you're getting.
In-home design visit. Amany comes to your home for an in-person walkthrough, so we look at the project together where you're most comfortable, finalize the details and choose your colors and finishes.
Engineering, HOA and permits handled. We get the necessary engineered documents for every permitted structure, prepare your HOA/ARB package and pull the permits.
Build. We can start most projects within two to four weeks. Our crews follow a build process we've refined over many projects, and you get daily updates.
The AY Advantage. You hold back the final 5% for seven days after completion, so we can take care of any touch-ups before you sign off.

Financing is available through Synchrony Bank, including 18 months of no-interest financing, and we have other financing options as well.

How much does a cabana cost? Every project gets a custom quote with an in-person AutoCAD design, and every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. What drives the cost of a cabana: the size and roof style; finishes; what goes inside (bar, fan, lighting, storage); electrical and any plumbing; the deck and walkways; and engineering and permits. You get a fully itemized quote within 24 hours of your design consultation.

What's the difference between a cabana and a pavilion? Both are roofed structures. A cabana is usually smaller and centered on the pool, while a pavilion is a larger gathering space. We design both.

Does a cabana need a permit? A roofed cabana is usually a permitted structure. We pull the permit, and every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Can a cabana include a bar or a bathroom? A bar is common. Anything with plumbing is done with our licensed plumbing trade partners and planned during design.

Is an outdoor kitchen worth it? If you entertain or cook outside often, an outdoor kitchen makes the backyard a true living space. We design it to fit how you cook.

Will my structure hold up in a hurricane? Permitted structures are designed to Florida Building Code wind requirements, and every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
