A-Frame Gazebo Builder in SilverLeaf

A-frame gazebos for SilverLeaf homes, designed in AutoCAD and matched to the roofline.

A vaulted A-frame roof makes a patio feel like a real room, with a high wood ceiling and a fan on the ridge. We design A-frame gazebos for homeowners in SilverLeaf, attached to the house or overframed onto an existing lanai. Think of it as a gazebo with a peaked roof, most often attached to the house as an A-frame patio cover.

Ways to Build an A-Frame in SilverLeaf

  • Detached A-frame. An A-frame gazebo can also stand on its own out in the yard.

  • Kitchen underneath. Cook under a high roof with room for the smoke to rise.

  • Screened A-frame. Wrapped in screen for bug-free evenings.

  • Attached to the house. A gable roof that meets the existing roof cleanly.

Merriam-Webster defines a gazebo as a roofed structure, usually freestanding and usually open on the sides, and lists pavilion as a synonym.

Planning an A-frame gazebo in SilverLeaf

Most SilverLeaf homes are new, and the standard builder lanai is usually the first thing families want to extend or screen. Bare new backyards in SilverLeaf make it easy to plan the whole space at once and build it in phases. On a newer home, matching the builder's roofing and trim makes a new roof look like it came with the house.

Not every roofline can take an A-frame. Amany checks the existing roof at the in-home visit, and if it won't fit, a single slope usually will. Before we draw an A-frame gazebo in SilverLeaf, we check whether an overframe of the lanai is possible, how high the ridge can go and what goes under the gable.

Approvals and Permits in SilverLeaf

Because SilverLeaf is organized into villages, we confirm which guidelines apply to your home first. For an A-frame, review boards commonly ask for elevations of the gable and the roofing color. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

In SilverLeaf, permits come from St. Johns County. We file the clearance sheet and the permit application, record the Notice of Commencement the county requires for most permitted projects, and schedule the inspections. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an A-frame gazebo cost in SilverLeaf? It depends on the design, so there's no standard price. The main cost drivers are screens; the floor; the size; tie-in or overframe; and engineering and permits. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and you get a fully itemized custom quote within 24 hours of your consultation.

Will an A-frame make my patio brighter?Usually, yes. The vaulted roof lifts the ceiling so more light reaches the patio and the rooms behind it.

Can you turn my existing lanai roof into an A-frame?Often, yes. On a Jacksonville Beach project we overframed the original lanai so the roof is now one continuous A-frame.

Have you built in SilverLeaf?Yes. SilverLeaf is one of our most active communities, with gazebos, screen enclosures, fire pits and paver patios across several of its neighborhoods.

Do I need HOA approval for an A-frame gazebo in SilverLeaf?Yes, it does. SilverLeaf's architectural review covers exterior changes, and village guidelines can add details. We prepare the site plan, scaled drawings and material and color selections and submit them with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Does an A-frame gazebo in SilverLeaf need a permit? An A-frame gazebo is a permitted roof structure tied into your home. SilverLeaf homes are permitted by St. Johns County. The County requires a building permit for most improvements and, in most cases, a clearance sheet before it accepts the application, and registered architectural review associations are notified automatically when exterior work is filed. We handle the permit and inspections, and every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
