A-Frame Gazebo Builder in St. Augustine, FL
A-frame gazebos for St. Augustine homes, designed in AutoCAD and matched to the roofline.
A vaulted A-frame roof makes a patio feel like a real room, with a high wood ceiling and a fan on the ridge. We design A-frame gazebos for homeowners in St. Augustine, tied into the roofline or overframed onto an existing lanai. Downtown, the City's historic districts protect the look of the street, so outdoor rooms there are designed to sit quietly behind the house. Attached to the house, it works as an A-frame patio cover, and on its own in the yard it's a freestanding A-frame gazebo.

The dictionary calls a gazebo a roofed structure that is usually freestanding and usually open on the sides; Merriam-Webster even lists pavilion as a synonym.
Before We Draw Your St. Augustine A-Frame Gazebo
Out west near I-95, communities like SilverLeaf, Shearwater and Trailmark have younger homes and open backyards ready for a first project. On a newer home, matching the builder's roofing and trim makes a new roof look like it came with the house.
A gable that matches the house's other gables is what makes an A-frame look original. Before we draw an A-frame gazebo in St. Augustine, we check how the gable meets your existing roof, where the fan and lights mount and how the roofing matches the house.
Fans cool people, not rooms: the breeze creates a wind-chill effect, according to ENERGY STAR.
St. Augustine HOA Review and Permits
In St. Augustine, the review that matters depends on where you live: a community architectural review board in places like SilverLeaf, Palencia or Markland, the City's historic review downtown, or simply the county's rules on an older street. For an A-frame, boards usually look closely at the roof pitch, how the new gable meets the existing roof, and the roofing color. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Whether your home sits inside the City of St. Augustine or in unincorporated St. Johns County decides who issues the permit and whether historic review applies. We confirm your jurisdiction from your address before we design, and the county requires a recorded Notice of Commencement for most permitted projects. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the price of an A-frame gazebo in St. Augustine set? We price each project from its AutoCAD design. The floor; the size; tie-in or overframe; roofing; and engineering and permits all move the number. Every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum, and the itemized quote arrives within 24 hours of your consultation.
What if an A-frame won't fit my house? When an A-frame can't be built, a single-slope patio extension often can. Amany designs the option that fits your roofline.
Can an A-frame tie into my existing roof? Yes. We can tie a new A-frame into your roofline so it looks original to the house.
Do I need historic review for a backyard project in St. Augustine? Only if your home is in one of the City of St. Augustine's historic preservation zoning districts. There, most exterior work, including a new accessory structure, needs a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Architectural Review Board before the building permit. We check your property's zoning before we design. The decision belongs to the board.
Do I need HOA approval for an A-frame gazebo in St. Augustine? Plan on it. Master-planned communities such as SilverLeaf, Shearwater, Markland and Palencia run their own architectural review, while many older and beach-side neighborhoods follow city or county rules only. We put the package together and handle the submittal with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Who permits an A-frame gazebo in St. Augustine? We file with the City of St. Augustine inside city limits and St. Johns County outside them, depending on your address, track the permit and schedule the inspections. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
