What We Plan for Ponte Vedra Beach Outdoor TVs

Hidden power. Outlets behind the TV so no cords show.
Fans and lighting on the same plan. So switches and fixtures don't fight for space.
Outlets for wet locations. Protected outlets where the room can get damp.
A TV inside the screen room. Placed away from direct rain and afternoon glare.

UF/IFAS advises planning your power needs for cooking and lighting early when designing an outdoor living space.

Before We Draw Your Ponte Vedra Beach Outdoor TV Wiring Project

Gated and golf communities here, including Sawgrass Players Club, Marsh Landing and The Plantation, each run their own architectural review. Outdoor rooms here tend to be full living spaces, with fireplaces, TVs and kitchens under one roof. On fairway lots, power is placed where the seating faces the course.

The best time to plan TV power is before the wall is framed, when everything can be hidden. Before we draw an outdoor TV wiring project in Ponte Vedra Beach, we check where the seating faces, the afternoon glare and where switches belong. We handle the electrical work with our licensed electrical partner, so it's planned and permitted with the rest of the build.

Approvals and Permits in Ponte Vedra Beach

Most Ponte Vedra Beach homes are in a community with an architectural review committee, so we build the board's timeline into your schedule. Boards review the fireplace wall or roof structure, not the wiring inside it. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Building permits for Ponte Vedra Beach homes go through St. Johns County, and registered associations are notified automatically when exterior work is filed, so your HOA is part of the process from the start.

The National Electrical Code has required ground-fault (GFCI) protection on outdoor receptacles since the early 1970s, according to the CPSC.

Outdoor TV Projects in Ponte Vedra Beach

Recent Ponte Vedra Beach projects with outdoor TV and fireplace wall wiring work:

The Coves (Sawgrass Players Club): A cedar A-frame over-framed onto the house with a gable screen enclosure, a fireplace bar, ceiling fans, heaters and an outdoor TV.

Shed-roof covered patio extension with linear fireplace and natural-stone lanai, Sawgrass Country Club (Ponte Vedra Beach)This family's old pergola was falling apart, so we took it down and rebuilt the whole back lanai. The new covered patio extension uses a single-slope, shed-style roof, chosen because an A-frame wasn't the right fit for this home, with a stained tongue-and-groove ceiling, recessed lights and ceiling fans. A linear fireplace sits on a white stucco wall with a wood mantel that matches the ceiling, built-in seating and a TV above. Heaters are tucked into the headers, and stucco columns carry lanterns. Natural stone runs through the covered and open patio, framed by a white stucco seating wall with lit caps, and lit steps lead down to the yard. A retractable screen separates the covered extension from the open-air patio, and the upper balconies were rebuilt and re-tiled to match. The new roof was color-matched to the home's original tile roof.
