Gazebo Builder in St. Augustine, FL
Custom gazebos for St. Augustine, freestanding or attached to your house, designed in person with you in AutoCAD.
A gazebo can be a lounge, a dining room or an outdoor kitchen with a roof. AY Luxury Designs designs and builds gazebos, serving homeowners in St. Augustine, freestanding or attached to your house, finished to look like part of the house. Pond and preserve lots are common in St. Augustine's master-planned communities, so many designs frame the view instead of closing it in. The roof can be flat, shed-style or a peaked A-frame.

St. Augustine Gazebo Ideas
- Wood ceiling. A warm ceiling with fans and lights.
- Kitchen underneath. A gazebo is one of the best places for an outdoor kitchen.
- Inside a screen enclosure. A gazebo wrapped in screen for bug-free evenings.
- Over the hot tub. Shade and shelter where you soak.
Florida's summer thunderstorms are a reason to know the CDC's rule: open structures like gazebos and porches don't protect you from lightning, so go indoors when thunder roars.
St. Augustine Planning Notes for Your Gazebo
Downtown, the City's historic districts protect the look of the street, so outdoor rooms there are designed to sit quietly behind the house. On a lot facing water, a roof is shaped and placed so the view from the family room stays open.
The first question is attached or freestanding. Attached gazebos extend the house; freestanding ones give the yard a destination. Before we draw a gazebo in St. Augustine, we check where the gazebo sits on the lot, what goes underneath and how the floor meets the patio.
A roof overhead blocks direct sun, but some UV still bounces in from bright surfaces like dry sand or concrete, the Skin Cancer Foundation notes.
St. Augustine HOA Review and Permits
Whether a St. Augustine project goes to an HOA board, the City's historic review or neither depends on the address, so we sort that out before we draw anything. For a gazebo, review boards often want elevations, the roofing color and the distance from the property lines. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Two offices permit St. Augustine homes: the City inside its limits and St. Johns County outside them. We pull the right permit for your address and schedule the inspections. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a gazebo in St. Augustine cost? Every project gets a custom quote with an in-person AutoCAD design, and every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. What drives the cost of a gazebo in St. Augustine: the floor; the size; freestanding or attached to the house; roof; and engineering and permits. You get a fully itemized quote within 24 hours of your design consultation.
Can a gazebo be attached to my house? Yes. Attached gazebos are one of our most popular builds. We tie the gazebo into your home's roofline so it looks original to the house, whether its roof is an A-frame, shed-style or flat.
Freestanding or attached gazebo? Freestanding gazebos create a spot in the yard; attached ones extend the house. Either kind can have a flat, shed-style or A-frame roof. Amany can show both in AutoCAD.
Is the design session in St. Augustine? Your project starts at our Jacksonville design studio. After that, Amany comes to your St. Augustine home for the in-home design visit.
Do I need HOA approval for a gazebo in St. Augustine? Plan on it. Master-planned communities such as SilverLeaf, Shearwater, Markland and Palencia run their own architectural review, while many older and beach-side neighborhoods follow city or county rules only. We prepare the site plan, scaled drawings and material and color selections and submit them with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.
Who permits a gazebo in St. Augustine? We file with the City of St. Augustine inside city limits and St. Johns County outside them, depending on your address, track the permit and schedule the inspections. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.
