Gazebo Builder in Nocatee, FL

Custom solid-roof gazebos for Nocatee, freestanding or attached to your house, designed in person with you in AutoCAD.

A gazebo gives you a solid roof overhead, so you can sit outside through sun and rain, hang a fan and mount a TV. AY Luxury Designs designs and builds custom gazebos for homeowners in Nocatee, freestanding in the yard or attached to the house, with the roof, columns and ceiling matched to your home. The roof can be flat, shed-style or a peaked A-frame.

Planning Your Gazebo for a Nocatee Home

  • Start with your neighborhood's guidelines. Each Nocatee neighborhood has its own review, so we check yours before we sketch a gazebo.
  • Work from the builder lanai. Most Nocatee homes started with a standard lanai or slab, so we plan a gazebo to tie in cleanly and look original to the house.
  • Fit the lot. Nocatee lots are efficient, so we keep a gazebo inside the setbacks and think about the neighbors' view, too.
  • Plan the whole backyard. Pavers, lighting, fans and shade are designed together in AutoCAD, so everything works as one space.

Gazebo and pavilion overlap in everyday use: Merriam-Webster lists each word in the other's synonym list.

Gazebos in Nocatee: What's Different

Gazebos in Nocatee. Nocatee gazebos are usually tied into the house so they feel like an extra room. In Cypress Trails our screened A-frame gazebo ties into the existing lanai, and in Del Webb Nocatee a grand cedar gazebo shelters a linear fireplace and two outdoor kitchens.

Permits. Most of Nocatee is in St. Johns County, which issues the building permit, usually after a clearance sheet, and automatically notifies registered architectural review associations. Duval-side neighborhoods such as Brookwood are permitted by the City of Jacksonville. A Notice of Commencement is required for most permitted projects. See our St. Johns County permit guide.

Fans under a covered roof help because moving air helps sweat evaporate from your skin; as ENERGY STAR puts it, fans cool people, not rooms.

Our Work in Nocatee

Screened A-frame gazebo with stone fireplace on a raised patio, Cypress Trails (Nocatee) A screened A-frame cedar gazebo that ties into the home's existing A-frame lanai so cleanly it looks original to the house. Because the yard drops off sharply, the patio is built up on a raised wall-block base. Inside, exposed rafters give it a cabin feel over a tongue-and-groove ceiling with lights and a ceiling fan, and the focal point is a gas fireplace clad in hand-laid stone with a raised hearth, a stone mantel and a TV above. The same pavers and ceiling finish continue across the existing lanai so the old and new spaces read as one.

Grand cedar gazebo with linear fireplace and two outdoor kitchens, Del Webb Nocatee An expansive A-frame cedar gazebo tied into the house, with custom columns to match the home and custom shutters, inside a screen enclosure with our expanded-view upgrade. Outside, a linear gas fireplace and a cedar privacy wall frame two outdoor kitchens with granite counters.

Cedar gazebo carried into the roof, screen enclosure and trellis, Del Webb Ponte Vedra A cedar gazebo carried into the roof, inside a new screen enclosure with our expanded-view upgrade, with a custom cedar trellis, a paver addition and a seating wall finishing the space.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a gazebo in Nocatee cost? Every project gets a custom quote with an in-person AutoCAD design, and every AY Luxury Designs project has a $10,000 minimum. What drives the cost of a gazebo in Nocatee: the size; freestanding or attached to the house; roof; ceiling; fans, lights, TV and fireplace; screens; the floor; and engineering and permits. You get a fully itemized quote within 24 hours of your design consultation.

What's the difference between a gazebo and a pergola? A gazebo has a solid roof (flat, shed-style or A-frame) and can stand on its own or attach to your house. A pergola has an open slatted top for filtered shade.

Can a gazebo match my roof? Yes. Attached gazebos are roofed and finished to match the house.

Do I need HOA approval for a gazebo in Nocatee? Plan on it. Each Nocatee neighborhood has its own architectural review and design guidelines on top of the master association, and the details, such as screen and frame colors, enclosure height and roof types, differ from one neighborhood to the next. We put the package together and handle the submittal with you. Confirm current guidelines with your association.

Do I need a permit for a gazebo in Nocatee? A gazebo is a permitted roofed structure. Building permits for Nocatee homes go through St. Johns County, and registered associations are notified automatically when exterior work is filed, so your HOA is part of the process from the start. We handle the permit and inspections, and every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents.

Do you build gazebos in Nocatee? Yes. We design and build custom gazebos, serving homeowners in Nocatee. Your project starts with a design session at our Jacksonville studio, and then Amany comes to your home for the in-home design visit.

Can a gazebo tie into my Nocatee lanai? Yes. In Cypress Trails we tied a screened A-frame gazebo into the home's existing A-frame lanai so cleanly it looks original.
