Aluminum naturally forms a protective oxide coating that resists corrosion, the Aluminum Association notes.

What Matters More Than the Material

Design, placement and how the pergola ties into the house matter more than the material alone. Every permitted structure gets its necessary engineered documents, and we choose finishes for your home's exposure.

UF/IFAS recommends avoiding wood-to-ground contact, like posts or decks set directly in soil, as one way to help reduce termite risk in Florida.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the best pergola for Florida weather? One designed and built for our sun, humidity, storms and salt air. We select materials for your exposure and permit structures to Florida code.

What's the best patio cover near the water or in a windy spot? Coastal and open lots need careful design and material choices. We choose materials and finishes for your home's exposure.

Pergola vs. patio cover: which is better? A pergola gives filtered shade and an open feel. A solid patio cover gives full shade and rain protection. Louvered pergolas sit in between. We'll recommend based on how you use the space.
